Everyday Tips & Tricks to Extend the Life of your Luxury Hair Extensions

- Do not wet hair for 48 hours after initial application of tape-in or fusion extensions.

- Do not leave bonds wet for long periods of time. It is best to dry bonds completely after washing your extensions.

- After being in a pool, hot tub, salt water or any other chemically treated water be sure to rinse your hair with clean water. It is recommended that you shampoo your extensions immediately after they come in contact with chemically treated water.

- Brush hair twice a day to prevent extensions from tangling. Use gentle strokes securing hair at roots, hold bonds to ensure no slippage to detangle ends. Run fingers between bonds to prevent matting as often as possible.

- Never brush your hair when the bonds are wet. It is recommended that you completely dry the bonds before brushing to avoid any unwanted slipping. Brushing your hair while showering is not recommended.

- When going to bed, pull hair back into a loose braid or low ponytail with a soft hair tie. This will help prevent tangling and will keep bonds from matting together. A satin pillow case or head scarf will also minimize tangling and help maintain your extensions integrity.

-Sulphate-free products are recommended. Only use hair products recommended by your --Extension Technician in order to avoid any products not suitable for extensions. If you are unsure what products are suitable ask your Extension Technician.

- Do not use any chemicals such as: lightener, perm solution or straightening treatments, this includes in salon treatments. It is recommended that you remove your extensions prior to receiving a service that requires the use of any of these chemicals.

- When styling with hot tools avoid applying heat to the bonds. Heat may alter the integrity of the bond. It is recommended that you use a heat protectant and low heat setting when styling with hot tools to maintain the integrity of your extensions.

-Avoid putting products on or near bonds. When conditioning hair apply conditioner only to the ends of your hair. If conditioner or other products come in contact with the bond the extension may fall out. If you are unsure if a certain product may cause your bonds to slip, check with your Extension Technician before using the product.

- Be sure to have your extensions removed within 4-12 weeks after initial application. This is crucial to maintain the integrity of your natural hair.

Remember that the hair extensions can be reused for up to 12 months, how long they can be reused for is up to your maintainence!

Weather your straightening, curling, blow drying or just spending a day in the sun you should always apply heat protectant before applying heat to your extensions. Heat protectant products work to reduce the risk of damaging your hair from heat or sun exposure. You protect your skin from damage with sunscreen, and are all very aware of the damage that sun & heat can cause to our skin. We need to show our hair this same love!
