Tips & tricks for caring for your hair extensions through salt, sand, water & heat.
The summer months call for added care for your hair extensions and blonde hair. These tips can also be used for lightened hair in the summer months.
The added heat, humidity and time spent at the beach or swimming can quickly diminish the quality of our hair extensions and blonde hair.
At Kobo Beauty we provide only the highest quality hair extension products, ensuring that your hair can be worn to the beach, pool or lake without any worries. That being said, you should take some extra precautions to care for them while visiting any of these places. To maintain your hairs integrity it is important to use SPF, moisturizer and style with purpose.
SPF - Just like our skin, our hair needs to be protected from UV rays when outdoors. Before enjoying a day in the sun always spray your hair extensions and/or blonde locks with a product formulated with UV protection. Our favourite UV protects are below;

Moisturizer - After a long day in the sun we are quick to apply aloe, and other moisturizing products to our body and skin, but don't forget to replenish your hair with moisture as well. Applying a leave-in conditioner through out the day and a rich serum at the end of the day will help replenish your hairs moisture levels after a day in the sun.
If you are wearing hair extensions be sure to apply any leave-in conditioners and serums from mid-shaft to ends only, always avoid getting products on or near your bonds.

Style with Purpose - When you visit a cottage, beach or pool often water sports or boating is involved. It is important that you secure your hair extensions or blonde hair to avoid excess tangling that can damage your hair. Always wear your hair in a braid or low ponytail when engaging in water activities.
Remove Toxins - If you swim in a pool or salt water make sure to wash your hair in the shower immediately after with sulphate free shampoo. This will remove any build up left from pool chemicals or salt. Chlorine and salt that are left on hair extension bonds can break down the bonds causing slippage to occur. Leaving this build up on your hair drains your hair of its natural oils, leaving it brittle and causing damage.
